PROP is a Windows 95/98/NT/2000 utility that quickly reads the most important Document Structuring Convention (DSC) comments from the PostScript file or tags from TIFF file and creates report about it's content. For PostScript report include:

1. Size of PostScript pages (bounding box of all pages included in the file).
2. Name of page media (only if such feature was used when creating PostScript).
3. Colors used in PostScript document.
4. Separated or composite color indicator.
5. Emulsion up or down (mirror) indicator.
6. A lot of details about PostScript file: name, size, layout title, date, etc.
7. The list of PostScript required external (not included in the file) resources.

Currently Prop supports three types of prepress files: PostScript, TIFF and PDF. For now Prop has only limited support for the PDF files (1, 2 positions above only).

Prop is supposed to be very useful for prepress, because with Prop You will be able decide about PostScript file content before the time consuming interpretation and avoid reinterpretation or even bad output.
